What is BioNutrition Caralluma?

BioNutrition Caralluma is a weight loss supplement which, the manufacturer says, is made from a 10:1 concentration of Caralluma extract (meaning that it takes 10 units of raw material to produce one unit of finished product). It is said to help with appetite control in a caffein-free formula. We review this product in detail, below, to help you determine if it should be on your short-list of possible weight-loss aids.

Ingredients

The sole ingredient active ingredient is 1000 mg of Caralluma Fimbriata, at the study-recommended dose, in a vegetarian capsule.

An extract of the Caralluma adscendens plant native to the Indian subcontinent, Sri Lanka, the Arabian Peninsula, and North Africa, Caralluma Fimbriata, was known as “famine food” in India and was eaten when food was scarce, to help control hunger. The extract blocks the formation of fat by in the body, forcing it to use stored fat for energy and causing weight loss. Clinical studies have shown 1000mg is the minimum dose for effective weight loss; higher amounts may possibly be more effective. BioNutrition Caralluma 1000 contains the minimum effective quantity in a two-capsule serving.

Dosage

To jump start a weight loss program, adults should take two capsules once or twice a day, 30 minutes before a meal, with a full glass of water, or as directed by a healthcare professional.
The dosage meets the study recommended levels for effectiveness.

What is the Cost?

At the time we researched this article you could purchase a bottle of 60 tablets from the company’s website for $14.95; however, if you take the maximum recommended dose, of two capsules twice a day, you will need to purchase two bottles at a time to get a month’s supply. We found you could buy the same bottle on Amazon for $11.14.

Manufacturer’s Guarantee

BioNutrition offers a 30-day return and refund policy from date of purchase. You must retain the original packaging and return the product in it, with a dated receipt and an explanation of dissatisfaction to receive a refund.

Our Final Review of BioNutrition Caralluma

Benefits
● Reasonably priced
● Contains the study-recommended dose

Concerns
● Restrictive refund policy
● Requires two bottles of product for a month’s supply when taken twice a day

Obesity is a serious health issue; for those of us who have difficulty losing weight, BioNutrition’s Caralluma could be of help. Studies have shown no side effects for Caralluma Fimbriata, so there are no drawbacks to trying it. However, the refund policy is restrictive, giving you little time to actually try the product and assess its effectiveness. Ultimately, it puts the risk on you, rather than the manufacturer, to try the product. While this may not be a significant concern given the relatively low cost, we think it something of a red flag about a company’s approach to customer satisfaction when it doesn’t put the customer’s interests first. And there is also the thought that the company isn’t fully confident in its own product. We think you should be able to find a product with a more customer-friendly return plan.
