What is Terry Naturally Tart Cherry?

Too much uric acid in one’s blood can result in gout, a painful and debilitating condition that usually starts in the big toe, but can also affect other joints in the foot, knee, elbows and hands.

This is our review of Terry Naturally’s Tart Cherry, a food supplement that is said to promote healthy uric acid balance in the body, support joint flexibility and comfort, aid recovery after exercise, and provide “superior” antioxidant effects.

There are many gout treatment supplements on the market that contain the same active ingredient – some kind of cherry. This formulation contains one of the highest dosages of cherry – in this case, Tart Cherry – we have seen. Tart cherries contain anthocyanins which are said to be powerful antioxidants. Antioxidants increase the body’s resistance to oxidative stress. In addition, anthocyanins are believed to play an important role in support for uric acid balance in the body.

Ingredients

  • Tart Cherry  (Prunus cerasus) fruit powder                                                            1 500mg
  • Standardised to contain >0.5% anthocyanins (freeze dried, not heated)

Other Ingredients:

Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (vegetable cellulose capsules), silica, microcrystalline cellulose, vegetable source magnesium stearate.

No: sugar, salt, yeast, wheat, gluten, corn, soy, dairy products, artificial coloring, artificial flavoring or artificial preservatives.

Dosage

Take 1 to 2 capsules daily

What Is The Cost?

You can purchase a bottle of 120 capsules from the manufacturer for $35.95 – or for considerably less from other e-stores. Nevertheless, the manufacturer does offer a free shipping service.

Manufacturer’s Guarantee

The manufacturer states clearly that if you don’t get the results you want, you can return the product for a 100% refund (less any shipping costs). However, before simply shipping the product back to the manufacturer, you must ensure you contact them and apply for a Return Authorization Number. This is to ensure that your credit card account is properly credited.

Our Final Review Of Terry Naturally Tart Cherry

Despite the indication in the manufacturer’s name that this is an all-natural product, it contains chemicals such as magnesium stearate and silica. As a result, prolonged use of this supplement may cause some adverse effects.

On the plus side, however, Terry Naturally Tart Cherry capsules deliver a high dosage of the active Tart Cherry ingredient – among the highest we have seen to date.

We were unable to find any indication on the Terry Naturally website regarding where the product is manufactured, or if the manufacturing facilities adhere to any of the recognized manufacturing quality standards for food supplement production.

There was also no evidence provided that the capsules deliver the benefits the manufacturer claims. It is important to bear in mind that Terry Naturally does not claim that the product will actually reduce the pain associated with gout so anyone taking the product may find they may have to use Terry Naturally Tart Cherry in conjunction with another pain relief product when a gout attack or a flare-up occurs.
