What Is YeastZyme Max?

As the name suggests, YeastZyme Max by Advanced Naturals is a supplement for yeast infections. The majority of women will be prone to at least one infection in their lifetimes, causing whitish vaginal discharge, itching and redness. It may also cause mood irritability, fatigue and brain fog as well as bowel upset. Unfortunately, it is estimated that between 25 and 40% of women will suffer from chronic yeast infections. It is mainly caused by the candida albicans fungus, which is notoriously difficult to get rid of. Moist, dark conditions create a suitable home for it. Candida is present in the gut to aid digestion. However an incorrect digestive pH, a food supply in the form of sugar from carbohydrates and too few good bacterial species allow this stubborn, opportunistic fungus to get a foothold. When it reaches certain levels, it will even make its way into the bloodstream, leaving the body to fend it off on all fronts constantly, wasting precious energy and immune resources.

The usual way to treat yeast infections is with probiotics, so the good bacteria can be dominant once more as a more permanent solution. Secondly, other phytonutrients and antifungals may be added to kill off the yeast rapidly. Sometimes, enzymes are added to aid digestion, so that fecal matter doesn’t lay in the gut feeding candida albicans. This formula relies basically solely on enzymes. We will examine to what extent this may work, and if it is a good solution. The manufacturer says that YeastZyme helps maintain a balanced intestinal environment and supports the detoxification of yeast.

Ingredients

  • Protease
  • Lipase
  • Amylase
  • Lactase
  • Lysozyme
  • Invertase
  • Cellulase

Protease, amylase and lactase are enzymes which help you digest proteins, carbohydrates and dairy respectively. These ingredients consist solely of enzymes – so how is this related, if at all, to getting rid of yeast? Effective digestion is critical in that waste needs to be moved efficiently from the body. If not, it is a breeding ground for yeast and other bacteria.

These enzymes also work to remove dead cells and other unwanted proteins from the body without the detox symptoms that normally accompany the yeast cleansing process, a set of symptoms called as “die-off”. Die-off symptoms are uncomfortable. They typically include nausea, headaches, gland inflammation, bowel upset and erratic mood. These side effects can be as bad as the actual yeast infection symptoms.

Dosage

Take 3 capsules daily before bed, at least 2 hours after a meal. Do not use if you are pregnant, trying to conceive or taking medication – in these cases, speak to your doctor first.

What Is The Cost?

There are 15 servings of 3 capsules each, costing $28.23 per bottle. We found this product available on Amazon even though the company says you can only purchase a bottle through practitioners.

Manufacturer’s Guarantee

There does not seem to be one, despite many other quality assurances.

Final Review of YeastZyme Max

YeastZyme Max is free of binders, fillers or excipients and this is significant in a yeast product as the last thing you need is for your body to be fighting extra toxins. The ease of use means you can take these capsules with or without food.

This product does not go nearly far enough in ridding you of candida albicans, either by killing it or creating an environment it cannot thrive in. It is probably unlikely even to aid with mild yeast infections as there is simply nothing in this formula that acts as a primary, rather than secondary remedy. You need a combination of probiotics and antifungals and there is no escaping this. There is no information, clinical research or input given on why this enzyme-only approach to yeast infections will work. While YeastZyme Max would help ease the suffering of some diverticulosis or IBS sufferers, it is best avoided as any kind of meaningful yeast cleanse.
