What is Applied Nutrition Pre-Meal Carb Blocker?

Today we review Applied Nutrition Pre-Meal Carb Blocker.  This vegetarian capsule contains white kidney bean extract which has been proven to help stop the absorption of carbohydrates into the body.  By decreasing the activity of Alpha Amylase, this supplement helps to slow down the breakdown of starchy foods, like breads, pastas, and cereals.  When combined with a healthy diet and exercise, this supplement can help you lose weight and reach your lifelong weight goals.

Ingredients

  • White Kidney Bean Extract
  • Rice Flour
  • Hypromellose
  • Magnesium Stearate
  • Silicon Dioxide

The main ingredient in this supplement is White Kidney Bean Extract, which is what we see in many similar supplements.  We like the fact that the capsules are made to be vegetarian friendly. Unfortunately, this product does not meet the state of California’s Proposition 65, which means one or more of the ingredients has been shown to cause birth defects if taken during pregnancy.

Dosage

One dose of this supplement is 2 capsules.  The manufacturer suggests taking two doses per day, each before a starchy meal or snack.  Each dose should be accompanied by at least 8 ounces of water. For best results, this supplement should be taken in conjunction with a healthy diet.

What is the Cost?

Each container has 40 capsules, or 20 doses and costs $12.99.  That means, in order to purchase a full month supply, you would need to buy three packages of this product, making the overall monthly cost $38.97.  This is much more expensive than other supplements of this kind that we have seen. If you do purchase more than $50 worth of product at one time, an automatic 10% discount will be applied, and for orders over $100 there is an automatic discount of 15%.  While this does help bring the cost lower, it is still more expensive than other carb blockers.

Manufacturer’s Guarantee

After extensive searching, we were unable to find any manufacturer’s guarantee or return policy listed on the manufacturer’s website.  They do have contact information listed for questions, but nothing specifically for returns or refunds. This concerns us, as you are not guaranteed your money back should you be unsatisfied with this product.

Our Final Review of Applied Nutrition Pre-Meal Carb Blocker

There are a few things we liked about Applied Nutrition Pre-Carb Meal Blocker.  This supplement comes in a vegetarian friendly capsule, so almost anyone can take it.  Also, the main ingredient is white kidney bean extract, which is known to help stop the absorption of carbs.

Unfortunately, there are many things we found concerning about this product.  First off, it fails to meet California’s Proposition 65. Also, each container only contains 10 days worth of the supplement, making the price very expensive.  Lastly, after extensive research on their website, we were not able to find any information about a money-back guarantee or a return policy on this product. For these reasons, we cannot recommend this supplement as a Carb Blocker for help with weight loss.
