What is Applied Nutrition Hair Skin And Nails Vitamins?

It is a dietary supplement that can be taken in order to improve hair growth for stronger and thicker hair. It contains vitamins and minerals as well as plant extracts that are all natural and have no major side effects associated with them. We review Applied Nutrition Hair Skin And Nails Vitamins to determine the quality of this product and if it matches up to some of the top market performers.

Ingredients

  • Vitamin A
  • Vitamin C
  • Biotin
  • Calcium
  • Zinc
  • Copper
  • Hydrolyzed collagen
  • Horsetail herb
  • Gotu kola extract
  • Para-aminobenzoic acid
  • Citrus
  • Bioflavonoids
  • Acai extract
  • Pomegranate extract
  • Cranberry powder

All of the vitamins in this supplement were probably included because they are known to be part of the metabolism of the amino acids which make up hair. Likewise, the minerals like zinc and copper are also involved in amino acid metabolism, particularly cysteine. If a person suffers from a deficiency of these the result could be decreased amino acid metabolism and therefore insufficient amino acids to make healthy hair. Biotin was likely included because it is a fundamental part of the protein, keratin, which gives hair its structural consistency. The horsetail herb is a good source of silica which forms part of the structure of hair.

Gotu kola improves blood circulation to the scalp, which carries the nutrients to the hair follicles. There is very little evidence to support the usefulness of para-aminobenzoic acid for the reversal of hair loss or the enhancement of hair growth. The rest of the compounds contain antioxidants which prevent damage to the scalp  which in turn helps to reduce hair loss. This supplement contains soy which some people might be allergic to and gelatin which is not suitable for vegans or vegetarians.

Dosage

Two soft gel capsules can be taken daily. The manufacturer does not state whether they should be taken with food or not or at what time of the day they should be taken. The vitamins and minerals all appear to be at the correct dosage except for calcium which is only at 2% of the recommended daily allowance. The small dosage is probably too low to exhibit any effect.

What is the Cost?

A set of 60 softgel capsules can be purchased online for $17.99. This price includes shipping. This manufacturer does not offer any bulk order discounts or subscription services for this product. They do have a bunch of other discounts and offers like when purchasing different products together for example.

Manufacturer’s Guarantee

We could not find any evidence of a guarantee or returns policy but the manufacturer does have contact details on their website. We could also not find any evidence of accreditation by boards which govern supplement manufacturing.

Our Final Review of Applied Nutrition Hair Skin And Nails Vitamins

Most of the ingredients present in this supplement are well considered and the supplement is offered at a reasonable price. The problem is, with long term use of this product, the customer will actually end up spending more because there are no bulk purchase discounts. It’s also concerning that the manufacturer doesn’t clearly offer a guarantee because this places the customer at risk of wasting their money on an ineffective product.
