What is CoQ10 100mg?

The manufacturers of this supplement claim that this product can support a healthy heart, but also that it can assist with cellular energy production. This is a review on these claims. The product CoQ10 100mg is reviewed as a general CoQ10 dietary supplement.

Ingredients

One capsule contains:

  • Vitamin A (beta-carotene as Betatene mixed carotenoids, 2,334 IU)
  • Vitamin E (from d-alpha tocopherol and mixed tocopherols, 100 IU)
  • CoQsol Coenzyme Q10 (ubiquinone, 100 mg)

Other ingredients include gelatin, rice bran oil, glycerin, purified water, beeswax, annatto (seed) extract color, titanium dioxide color.

This supplement is free from artificial flavoring, corn, dairy, gluten, preservatives, salt, soy, sugar or wheat. That said, some of these ingredients could be a problem for some people. For instance, the inclusion of gelatin means that this product is not suitable for vegans or vegetarians. Also, there is no indication of whether the gelatin is halal. Hindu people cannot use this supplement as the gelatin comes from cows. Secondly, some people with bee allergies cannot use this product since it contains beeswax. Lastly, titanium dioxide, as a whitening agent, carries health risks.

Dosage

The manufacturer’s recommendation is that 1 capsule be taken every day, with food, over a long period. Pregnant women and nursing mothers, or those on any prescription medication should speak to their doctor before taking this dietary supplement.

What is the Cost?

CoQ10 100mg is available online at Amazon and is sold in 30-capsule bottles.  A once-off purchase price for one bottle is $13.14 which includes the shipping fee. This product is also available on other third-party websites such as Wellica Inc, Vitamins Emporium, HerbsPro or even Swanson Health Product. However, the same product marketed on Amazon costs more per unit. Either way, not at one of the sites, including Amazon, is there any discount offered.

Manufacturer’s Guarantee

The manufacturer does not offer any kind of guarantee. However, since it is sold through third-party sites such as Amazon, a consumer is protected by the policy of those retailers. For instance, with Amazon, you can return a product within 30 days of purchase, however, the bottle must be unopened to qualify for a refund. Therefore, you cannot test the product’s efficacy.

Our Final Review of CoQ10 100mg

This CoQ10 supplement has positives, and negatives. For instance, it is available on various Internet sites, albeit at different prices. On the negative side, even though the product is marketed by the manufacturer as vegetarian friendly, it contains gelatin. This makes it unsuitable for vegans or vegetarians. Another problem with this supplement is that no package deals are on offer. Deals could make the product much more economical, especially since the manufacturer recommends using this supplement over a long period for optimal results. Furthermore, even though the ingredients may seem impressive, packed with enzymes in the formula, active ingredients such as Piperine, known to improve absorption, are lacking. Lastly, you cannot test the product to decide on its suitability for you. Retailers demand that the product be returned unopened, or no refund will be given.
