What is KAL Joint Guard?

We review KAL Joint Guard to see what benefits it offers as a dietary supplement aimed at alleviating the stiffness of joints and enhancing the ability of the joints and cartilage to be as flexible and mobile as possible. The manufacturer claims that the blend of ingredients is specifically selected for their properties and formulated into joint support in the form of a tablet. The key ingredient in the blend is Glucosamine (at 1000mg), and when combined with other natural ingredients it is thought to be a potent joint-pain killer.

Ingredients

  • Vitamin D
  • Zinc
  • Boron
  • Bovine cartilage
  • While Willow
  • Green Shell Mussel
  • Boswellia Serrata
  • Horsetail
  • Turmeric
  • Ginger Extract
  • Black pepper Extract
  • Ginger root Extract
  • Rosemary Leaf Extract
  • Turmeric Root Extract
  • Cayenne Extract
  • Glucosamine HCI

Green Shell Mussel, Horsetail, While Willow and Boswellia Serrata Turmeric root extract Cayenne extract may reduce inflammation. Vitamin D promotes bone growth, Zinc supports cartilage and Boron adds to bone density. Black Pepper Extract, Ginger Root Extract, Rosemary Leaf Extract, Turmeric Root Extract, and Cayenne extract all form part of the ActiSorb Proprietary blend ( to help absorption and alleviate pain) as per the nutritional value label, which makes us uncertain if there are enough concentrations of each ingredient for them to be effective.

Glucosamine HCI stands for Glucosamine Hydrochloride, which does not contain sulfur to promote healthy cartilage the way Glucosamine Sulfate does. This ingredient may also be an allergen risk to those allergic to shellfish. According to our research, it seems that the manufacturer has excluded some powerful ingredients which we find present in the blends of many other leading brands. Ingredients such as Methylsulfonylmethane, Hyaluronic Acid, and Holy Basil Leaf Extract could strengthen the product.

Other ingredients:

  • Silica
  • Cellulose

Silica is a flow-agent which categorizes it as a food additive. Unfortunately, food additives have been proven to alter the supplement’s performance.

Dosage

While eating, take 1 tablet. Two tablets a day may be taken.

What is the Cost?

A bottle containing 60 capsules is priced at $12.77 via the manufacturer’s website. Coupons and seasonal specials are offered.

Manufacturer’s Guarantee

As per the manufacturer’s website returns policy tab, there is a form asking for customer details however we feel that this is more aimed at tracking a shipment than it is for applying for a refund. Online support is offered so we would suggest that if need be, that an inquiry be made there. We find it strange that the manufacturer does not state their guarantee (should there be one) on their website as it hints that they have confidence in their product.

Our Final Review of KAL Joint Guard

We like that the website allows the customer to track their shipment and that the product is affordable. We are, however, regretful to have found additives and a proprietary blend of the ingredients which makes us question if the supplement will work. We also feel that many more active ingredients could have been added. The fact that there was no mention a potential allergy risk due to the high concentration (1000mg) of  Glucosamine gives us a bad impression and urges us to suggest trying a different joint mobility supplement.
